day 1: Charlotte and I cried when we left Chris . 2 weeks road trip suddenly seemed long. The night before, Chris and I tore apart the house looking for my passport - which was never found. no more shortcut through Canada.
Drive uneventful. Stopped only once to get gas, loaf of bread, and have pbj picnic on the lawn of a Wendy's. Arrived in Columbus after 6. Our (Chris') relatives, whom I've only met twice before, were generous and delightful hosts. The kids had a great time together - lots of hide and seek.
will not share an air mattress with Eleanor again.
